UMS GH25 MMIC MIM capacitors are subject to burn out under the presence of heavy ions. A design of experiment set of manufacturing trials shall be undertaken to fabricate different MIM capacitor recipes/structures and test them for SEB robustness. Focus shall be given for MIM capacitor manufactured directly on the SiC substrate as underlying dielectric isolation layers are felt to be the root cause for the low SEB voltages observed to-date. Samples shall be tested for radiation robustness and if successful implemented on the GREAT2 X-band MMIC test vehicle and a possible flight opportunity sought (e.g. CNES next generation Myriade family).Procurement Policy: C(1) = Activity restricted to non-prime contractors (incl.
