Today, 20 January, Romania celebrates 4 years since the signature of the Agreement between the Government of Romania and the European Space Agency on Romania's accession to the ESA Convention. The ceremony took place in 2011 and back then it brought together Jean-Jacques Dordain, ESA Director General and Marius-Ioan Piso, President and CEO of the Romanian Space Agency, along with Teodor Baconschi, Romania's Foreign Minister, the cosmonaut Dumitru Dorin Prunariu, and other personalities.

Update 27.01.2015: Scientists working with NASA's Deep Space Network antenna at Goldstone, California, have released the first radar images of asteroid 2004 BL86. The images show that the asteroid is approximately 325 meters across and it has a small moon approximately 70 meters across. Details here.
