World Space Week 2011

on 01 October 2011

The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) participates in the World Space Week campaign, between 4-10 October 2011.

In July 1999 the United Nations General Assembly declared October 4-10 as World Space Week. This declaration was a recommendation resulted from the UNISPACE-III conference held in Vienna, Austria earlier that year. The main objective of this event is to help decision makers and public opinion understand the benefits of space science and technology for sustainable development.

In 2011, more than 130 activities were registered on the official calendar of the World Space Week 2010 activities from the WSW website.

More details about World Space Week in Romania can be found on the ROSA website.
