Informative session SSA

On 7 March, the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) is organizing an informative session on the optional ESA programme Space Situational Awareness, which Romania subscribed to.

Space Situational Awareness (SSA) is a coordinated effort to detect and track space objects in orbit around the Earth, as well as monitor natural phenomena that could cause damage to satellites in orbit, to ground-based infrastructure and to people. Monitoring hazerdous or potentially hazerdous asteroids is for example part of this programme. SSA gives industry the opportunity to get involved in areas such as: radar systems, optical systems, cataloguing, orbit determination etc.

The informative session organized by ROSA takes place on 7 March, starting 09:00, at the agency’s headqurters on Mendeleev street, no 21-25, floor 3, room 301, Bucharest. During the second part of the event, after the prezentation of the programme from an ESA reprezentative, a series of meetings between ESA, ROSA and reprezentatives of participating organizations will take place.
