The first French woman astronaut visits the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA)

French astronaut Claudie Haigneré, former Minister of Research and President of Universescience will visit Bucharest, between 12 and 13 March, at the invitation of the French Institute from Bucharest. The former minister's agenda also includes a visit to the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), where she will be welcomed by Marius Piso, President and CEO of the Agency and where she will meet with the Romanian cosmonaut Dumitru Prunariu. Claudie Haigneré will hold a conference regarding the opportunity to built a "French society of knowledge".

On March 12, Claudie Haigneré will also visit the National Institute of Physics and Nuclear Engineering "Horia Hulubei" (IFIN-HH) in Magurele, where a new high power laser will be built, ELI-NP. Professor Nicu Zamfir, the project coordinator, will give a presentation about the laser facility.

The former minister will then be welcomed by Professor Ion Morjan, the Director of the National Institute of Lasers, Plasma and Radiations (INFLPR), who will present the laser TEWALAS built by Thales Optronique Company, and the place where it will be located.

The following day, on March 13, Claudie Haigneré will be greeted by the Rector of the University Politehnica of Bucharest, George Darie, and discuss with francophone students from the Faculty of Engineering in Foreign Languages ​​(FILS). Later in the day, she will attend a ceremony at the French Embassy, where the companies that financially support scholarships for young Romanian students with outstanding results will be awarded for their contributions.
