ROSA President attends IAA Academy Day, prior to International Astronautical Congress

on 25 September 2017

On 24 September, the President of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), Dr. Phys. Marius-Ioan Piso, held a presentation during the “Academy Day” event, in Adelaide, Australia. The Academy Day is organised by the International Academy of Astronautics, before the opening of the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), which starts today, 25 September.

The Academy Day started with speeches by IAA President, Dr. Peter Jankowitsch, and European Space Agency (ESA) Director General, Prof. Johann-Dietrich Woerner, among other guests. After a closed session, the 29th IAA Regular Meeting, a second session of presentations took place.

The President of the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), Dr. Phys. Marius-Ioan Piso, leads an IAA study on space systems as critical infrastructures — the topic of his presentation at the Academy Day. Other five studies were presented during the event.

The Academy Day is organised prior to the International Astronautical Congress (IAC), which takes place between 25 – 29 September 2017, in Adelaide, Australia. IAC is the largest space conference in the world. Every year, IAC brings together space leaders: heads of major space agencies, astronauts, senior space engineers, policy makers etc. The Romanian Space Agency (ROSA) is a constant and important presence at the event.
