Copernicus Services in the Sentinel Era Benefits for Eastern Europe

on 18 June 2014

The third edition of the conference dedicated to Eastern European Copernicus users and service providers will take place on 10 October 2014, in Bucharest, Romania. The conference is co-organised by the Romanian Space Agency (ROSA), the European Space Agency (ESA) and EURISY, supported by the European Commission and hosted by the Romanian Ministry of National Education at the Palace of the Parliament.

This year’s edition of the conference — „Copernicus Services in the Sentinel Era — Benefits for Eastern Europe” — is marked by the significant advance in providing users worldwide with high quality environment and security information services, due to the successful launch of the first Copernicus Sentinel spacecraft on 3 April 2014.

Participants will learn about the latest achievements towards developing a fully operational monitoring system for our environment and security, as well as the benefits this European flagship programme can bring to European economy, society and our daily life.

Small and medium enterprises that wish to explore and capitalise on the opportunities offered by the data the Copernicus programme already provides, will learn during the conference about funding and support mechanisms, as well as witness success stories from their peers.

Representatives of regional public authorities, industry and academia, as well as user communities are invited to share views on the Copernicus programme development and its benefits during the presentation and poster sessions.

Details on the conference venue, program and registration will be published on the Romanian Space Agency’s website and conference system.
